About the Role
The Dispensary Receptionist is responsible for greeting customers, managing customer flow, and providing general assistance during their visit. This position plays a vital role in creating a positive first impression by providing excellent customer service and assisting with various administrative tasks. The receptionist is also responsible for checking in customers, handling appointments, managing wait times, and ensuring compliance with dispensary policies.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities:
Customer Greeting: Greet customers warmly as they enter the dispensary and guide them through the check-in process.
Customer Flow Management: Monitor and manage customer flow, ensuring that the dispensary operates efficiently, especially during peak hours.
Verify Customer Information: Confirm the customer’s age and verify valid identification in compliance with state and local regulations.
Provide General Information: Answer basic customer inquiries regarding products, dispensary policies, operating hours, and services. Direct customers to appropriate budtenders or other staff when necessary.
Appointment Scheduling: Manage customer appointments and ensure that all appointments are scheduled and confirmed accurately.
Customer Support: Address customer complaints or issues promptly, escalate when necessary, and ensure that every customer receives top-tier service.
Maintain Cleanliness: Ensure the front area of the dispensary is clean, organized, and welcoming for all customers. This includes maintaining cleanliness of the reception desk, waiting area, and other public spaces.
Administrative Duties: Assist with various administrative tasks, including answering phone calls, filing, handling paperwork, and ensuring customer data is correctly entered into the system.
Compliance with Policies: Ensure that all customer interactions are compliant with local and state cannabis regulations, including checking IDs and adhering to product purchase limits.
Assist with Transactions: Support budtenders and management in processing transactions, including cash and digital payments.
Inventory Support: Assist with tracking inventory and ensuring products are stocked and organized for ease of access.
Security Awareness: Stay alert to any suspicious activity and report any concerns to the dispensary manager or security personnel.
Other Duties: Assist with additional tasks or special projects as assigned by the dispensary manager or supervisors.
Qualifications:
Age Requirement: Must be at least [18/21] years old, based on state and local cannabis laws.
Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; further education or customer service experience is a plus.
Experience: Previous experience in customer service, retail, or the cannabis industry preferred.
Skills:
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
Ability to multitask and manage customer flow efficiently.
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
Professional and friendly demeanor, with excellent interpersonal skills.
Ability to handle customer complaints or concerns with professionalism and empathy.
Basic computer skills and experience with point-of-sale (POS) systems.
Certifications: Any cannabis-related certifications or training (e.g., Responsible Vendor Training) are a plus but not required.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand for long periods.
