About the Role

Key Responsibilities:

Customer Assistance: Greet customers, answer their questions, and help them navigate the product offerings. Provide expert advice on various cannabis products, including flower, edibles, concentrates, and accessories.
Product Knowledge: Maintain in-depth knowledge of cannabis strains, cannabinoids, terpenes, and different consumption methods to provide accurate recommendations.
Sales Support: Assist customers with product selection based on their preferences or medical needs. Process transactions accurately and efficiently through the POS system.
Education: Educate customers on product benefits, effects, dosage recommendations, and safe consumption practices. Ensure customers are informed about the responsible use of cannabis.
Inventory Management: Help with inventory checks, restocking shelves, and maintaining organized displays. Track product sales and report any low stock or inventory discrepancies.
Regulatory Compliance: Adhere to all state and local laws related to cannabis sales, including verifying customers' age and compliance with purchase limits. Ensure all transactions and product handling meet regulatory standards.
Store Maintenance: Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming store environment by organizing products, cleaning display areas, and ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.
Customer Service Excellence: Provide a high level of customer service by addressing customer concerns, resolving issues, and ensuring a positive shopping experience.
Team Collaboration: Work closely with other budtenders and dispensary staff to ensure smooth operations and effective teamwork. Assist in training new team members when needed.

Requirements


Qualifications:

  • Age Requirement: Must be at least [18/21] years old (based on state regulations).

  • Education: High school diploma or GED required; additional education in business, health, or a related field is a plus.

  • Experience: Previous experience in customer service, retail, or the cannabis industry preferred. Knowledge of cannabis products and consumption methods is an advantage.

  • Certification: Cannabis industry certification or training (e.g., Responsible Vendor Training) is preferred but not required.

    Skills:

    • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex cannabis-related topics clearly and respectfully.

    • Excellent customer service skills with a friendly, approachable attitude.

    • Basic math skills for handling transactions and inventory management.

    • Ability to multitask and handle a fast-paced environment.

    • Detail-oriented with the ability to adhere to regulations and policies.

    • Team player with a positive attitude and professional demeanor.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to [X] lbs.

  • Comfortable working in a retail environment with varying customer traffic.

  • Ability to handle cannabis products and use various point-of-sale (POS) systems.
